I’m a retired firefighter, but responding to emergencies was only part of what I did in the fire service. Over the years, I also put my creative side to work—designing logos, shirts, cover art, and even producing training and promotional videos. I’m proud to say that some of the wildland firefighting standards I helped develop are still in use today. Even in retirement, I’m not the type to slow down. I decided to keep creating and continue the design work I’ve loved for decades. My company, The Collins Company, has been around for more than 20 years, but today I design and build under the name Av8rThor. Under that banner, I create custom designs, patches, hats, engraved products, and more. I also run a few online shops—which you may have seen on the home page—and yes, I built this website myself because that’s just who I am: I like doing things with my own hands.
